STEM+SEL Project Corporation
The STEM+SEL Project is an independent nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization formed for the charitable and educational purposes of aiding and empowering low and moderate-income students in NYC by providing them with science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) classes as well as social emotional learning (SEL). The corporation will ignite a passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in young minds and inspire them to pursue advanced studies in STEM fields.
About STEM+SEL
Our modern economy requires STEM knowledge, digital literacy, AI competency, critical thinking, and collaboration. Introducing these skills early can set children up for success, but students in high-poverty schools lack access to essential STEM resources. Help us level the playing field for kids in New York City.
Why it Matters
STEM Gap
Students in underserved communities often lack access to STEM programs, leaving them at a disadvantage in the rapidly growing STEM workforce.
Career Impact
Careers in STEM have grown by 79% in the past decade, yet Black and Hispanic workers remain underrepresented.
SEL Benefits
Social-emotional skills enhance collaboration, critical thinking, and resilience, essential traits for personal and professional success.
Our Vision
A future where every child, regardless of background, has the tools, confidence, and support to excel academically, socially, and professionally in the fast-growing STEM economy.
Our Mission
To bridge the opportunity gap for low-income and moderate-income students by providing affordable and accessible STEM classes and SEL training. We ignite curiosity, foster critical thinking, and inspire the next generation to pursue STEM careers.
Our Programs

1
AI Professional Career Accelerator
AI Professional Career Accelerator: A 24-week STEM initiative that teaches students ages 16-20 to build, manage, and verify AI "Gems" (custom assistants).
By using the P.A.C.E. Framework (Persona, Action, Context, Execute), we provide students with the tools to automate administrative hurdles and amplify their creative logic, resulting in both a Google AI Essentials Professional Certificate and a portfolio of custom-built automation tools.
2
STEM+SEL Program
STEM: Young Engineers' research-based programs deliver results within the first year and are recognized by Harvard Graduate School of Education and the European Union. From basics to advanced topics, students delve into computer engineering, inspiring a love for STEM in Harlem and nearby communities, with hopes of encouraging advanced education in these fields.
